The EMBED project is being led by Dr Marion Potschin. She is a Senior Researcher and is Deputy Director of the Centre for Environmental Management in the School of Geography, University of Nottingham. Her research background covers sustainable landscape development, the study of biophysical processes at the landscape scale, ecosystem services and the ecosystems approach, and the use of participatory methods in environmental management.
The other team members are:
Dr Paul Weaver, Director of Groundswell Research Associates. He is also an associated researcher at CEM, and is a Special Professor at the University of Nottingham. He is responsible for the methodological approach of EMBED and the research design. His expertise lies in the design and evaluation of approaches intended to support sustainability integration into policy and decision making. He also has a background in environmental economics, having lectured in this topic at the University of Durham and the University of Paris.
Professor Roy Haines-Young, who is Director of the Centre for Environmental Management in the School of Geography, University of Nottingham. He is the scientific coordinator for the project. In previous work he has undertaken research and published in the area of ecosystem services and biodiversity, ecosystem resilience, environmental limits, spatial analysis and environmental accounting.
